🥁 14 x 5.5 Redheart 🥁

Red heart, also known as Chakte Kok, is one of our more exotic hardwoods, typically found in Central America from Mexico ranging to Brazil and Paraguay. It has a hardness similar to red oak but without the dry characteristics - it has a rather wet and rich tone to it, with some softer qualities. The tone is quite pure with virtually no over-tones, as one might expect from a stave shell. Despite having a slightly softer tone than oak, it’s attack is similar to oak in that it is very quick and crispy. With a relatively shallow depth of 5.5” this drum has a quick response, and so we decided to complement that naturally crispy sound with a Remo Black Suede X drumhead, as well as all black nickel colored hardware to give contrast and a solid frame to this firecracker 🌳
