Porgera Deal Looks Fishy.
There is widespread speculation that there is a proposal by EPG and the relevant stakeholders to sell the 5 percent equity held by MRE to finance the new Porgera deal and related purposes. The sticky issue is whether it's prudent to do such when we are only few months away from the general election. What is the matter of urgency in rushing this fishy and highly suspicious deal? We have tolerated 30 donkey years of r**e, destruction and exploitation of our resources and instead of becoming wise and prudent we are easily subjecting ourselves to sheer manipulation for vested dubious interest. The Nation is expecting us to seek additional equity in lieu of damages, outstanding liabilities, social and human sufferings etc. Objectively, we have made more sacrifices than any gain at all. This is our God given time to benefit in abundance and not allowed to be misled into fraudulent and dubious dealings to rob us again. It's simply counterproductive and every Engans should resist the purported sale of our last remaining asset. We are yet to confirm what we got in the new Porgera deal. It's all tentative arrangements here and there. Nothing in concrete ! The New Government can cancel everything provided they discover that it's rushed, flawed and legally defective. Apparently there is no logic in rushing such suspicious deals and we should wait for a stable Government to be formed few months time. By then we shall be ready to trigger a benevolent deal that is promising for everyone.
Mineral Resources Enga is an investment company for the people of Enga and the Porgera Landowners.. Enga has the potential to become one of the fastest growing economy amongst the five highlands province only if such reckless decisions are on hold for the better. This speculation gives me the opportunity to express my views as a citizen of Enga over how Enga should be managed and guided to gain economic growth for the province to move forward through MRE..I strongly
