Growing up, how many times did we hear that phrase used to dismiss something as poorly made, or second-rate?

Building Luid Lokal completely changed that mindset for us.

When we finally went out into the communities, we saw centuries of history, relentless discipline, and a level of mastery that modern machines can't even touch.

Filipinos are naturally talented creators and it has always been there. It’s the appreciation and support that need to catch up.

It’s a long journey to completely change how people perceive homegrown brands, but we're here for it.

Buri has been with us long before any of us can remember.

It was woven into courtship traditions, harvest seasons, and the daily lives of communities in Pangasinan.

And for a while, it almost disappeared.

Today, every buri product you bring home carries that history with it.

The hands that made it belong to a tradition centuries in the making and a community that depends on it to keep going.

The moment we see an ube latte on the menu of a coffee chain, our first thought is usually, "Uy, Pinoy Pride!" and honestly, seeing our culture go mainstream feels amazing.

However, this is a space with a massive opportunity for improvement. From better government intervention to institutional support, there’s so much more we can do to protect the hands that grow our heritage.

This is exactly why we do what we do. We believe the real win happens when the entire journey stays right here in the Philippines.
