PNP SEIZES NEARLY PHP5-MILLION WORTH OF SMUGGLED CI******ES IN SULU

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., seized smuggled branded ci******es valued at Php 4,995,000.00 during an anti-criminality mobile patrol operation conducted on June 16, 2026 along Lagundi Road, Zone 3, Brgy. Tulay, Jolo, Sulu, in a sustained effort to curb illicit trade and protect government revenues.

Personnel of the Jolo Municipal Police Station discovered three abandoned vehicles loaded with assorted branded ci******es while conducting routine mobile patrol within their area of responsibility. Upon verification, the operating police officers found that the vehicles contained undocumented to***co products with no legal papers or proof of lawful transport. Efforts were immediately undertaken to identify and locate the owner of the vehicles and the cargo by coordinating with nearby residents and bystanders; however, no individual came forward to claim responsibility, leading to the seizure of the items for proper disposition.

The confiscated smuggled ci******es had a total estimated value of Php 4,995,000.00, consisting of one batch worth Php 2,775,000.00, another valued at Php 1,480,000.00, and a third amounting to Php 740,000.00. Also placed under police custody were three abandoned vehicles believed to have been used in transporting the illegal goods, which were later brought to the Jolo Municipal Police Station for safekeeping pending turnover to the Bureau of Customs. The PNP has likewise initiated further investigation to determine the identities of individuals or groups behind the abandoned vehicles and the smuggled shipment, including possible links to broader smuggling networks operating in the area.

“PNP operations against smuggling are intensified to protect public revenue and prevent illegal trade from flourishing in communities. We remain committed to upholding the rule of law at all times,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Ang pagpapatupad ng batas ay nananatiling pangunahing tungkulin ng PNP upang masigurong walang makakalusot sa ilegal na gawain,” PGEN Nartatez said.

PNP NABS CENTRAL VISAYAS REGIONAL NO. 2 AND NO. 7 MOST WANTED PERSONS

The Philippine National Police (PNP) recorded another significant accomplishment in its nationwide campaign against wanted persons following the arrest of two Regional Most Wanted Persons in separate police operations in Cebu City and Southern Leyte on June 17.

The first operation resulted in the arrest of a 73-year-old Filipino male who was listed as the Regional Top 2 Most Wanted Person. He was apprehended in Sogod, Southern Leyte by a joint police team implementing a warrant of arrest for multiple counts of violation of Republic Act No. 8353, or the Anti-Rape Law of 1997. The warrant carries no recommended bail.

In a separate operation in Cebu City, police also arrested a 42-year-old Filipino male listed as the Regional Top 7 Most Wanted Person. He was taken into custody by members of the tracker team implementing a warrant of arrest likewise carrying no recommended bail.
Both individuals are now under police custody and will be presented before the appropriate court in accordance with existing legal procedures.

The successful operations reflect the continuing implementation of the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, through intensified intelligence gathering, inter-unit coordination, and the sustained enforcement of lawful court orders. PNP INTENSIFIES CYBER OPERATIONS VS CYBERCRIME, MISINFORMATION; MULTIPLE CASES FILED, SUSPECTS ARRESTED

The Philippine National Police (PNP), through its Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), continues to strengthen its nationwide operations against the growing challenges of cybercrime and the spread of online misinformation, as part of its sustained efforts to ensure a safer and more responsible digital environment for the public.

In a series of coordinated operations conducted within a 24-hour monitoring period, the PNP ACG recorded significant accomplishments that included the filing of 10 cybercrime-related cases, the arrest of five individuals involved in various online offenses, and the rescue of a cybercrime victim who was immediately provided appropriate assistance. Authorities also reported the successful conviction of one cyber offender, reflecting the steady progress of cyber-related cases from investigation to prosecution.

As part of its proactive measures, the ACG carried out 63 cyber patrolling activities aimed at identifying and addressing suspicious online activities, including those linked to deceptive content and other forms of cyber-enabled violations. In addition, nine Warrants to Disclose Computer Data were implemented to further support digital evidence gathering and strengthen ongoing investigations.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., emphasized that the organization remains firm in addressing emerging online threats while maintaining a balanced and rights-respecting approach to law enforcement.

“Hindi po tayo nagpapabaya sa lumalawak na cyber threats at misinformation na nakakaapekto sa ating mga kababayan. PNP, PDEA NAB HIGH-VALUE DRUG SUSPECT IN WESTERN VISAYAS; OVER PHP7.7-M SHABU SEIZED

The Philippine National Police (PNP), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), scored another significant breakthrough in its intensified campaign against illegal drugs following the arrest of a High-Value Individual (HVI) and the seizure of more than PhP7.7 million worth of suspected shabu in Iloilo on June 17, 2026.

A joint buy-bust operation in Barangay Camambugan, Santa Barbara, Iloilo, led to the arrest of a 51-year-old watchlist drug personality known as “Banny”. The suspect, a resident of Janiuay, Iloilo, is listed on the PNP/PDEA drug watchlist. The operation was a coordinated effort by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (Teams 1 and 2), Provincial Intelligence Unit, Santa Barbara Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Division 6, and PDEA Region 6.

Confiscated during the operation were several plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated total weight of more or less 1,145 grams and a Standard Drug Price of approximately PhP7,786,000.00. Also recovered were the buy-bust money and other non-drug items.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the operating units for their continued vigilance and coordination in the field. “Patuloy nating pinaiigting ang ating operasyon laban sa ilegal na droga. These accomplishments reflect the dedication of our personnel and our firm resolve to protect communities,” he said.
