๐ŸŒฟGlow-Care as part of the EmpowerHer for AVC | Advancing Gender Equality and Care-Responsive Agricultural Value Chains ๐ŸŒฟ

Meaningful change begins with meaningful conversations.

GlowCorp is grateful to have successfully conducted another Glow-Care session as part of the EmpowerHer for AVC workshop on Gender Equality, Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE), Unpaid Care and Domestic Work (UCDW), and Care-Responsive Practices with our valued AVC partner, Don Bosco MPC, in collaboration with the Tubon Coconut Farmers Cooperative, held at the Don Bosco Foundation for Sustainability Inc. in Batasan, Makilala, North Cotabato.

The workshop served as a platform for participants to deepen their understanding of gender equality, recognize the value of unpaid care and domestic work, and explore practical ways to create more inclusive, equitable, and care-responsive organizations and communities. Through open dialogue, reflection, and shared experiences, participants reaffirmed that empowering women and engaging men as partners in care are vital to building stronger families, resilient cooperatives, and sustainable agricultural value chains.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Don Bosco MPC, Tubon Coconut Farmers Cooperative, and the Don Bosco Foundation for Sustainability Inc. for your warm hospitality, active participation, and unwavering commitment to advancing gender-responsive and inclusive development. Your dedication demonstrates that lasting transformation is achieved when organizations work together with a shared vision of equality, dignity, and opportunity for all.

This learning activity is part of the EmpowerHer: Embedding Gender Equality in Business Praxis of MSMEs in the Philippines project, implemented by the Institute for Social Entrepreneurship in Asia (ISEA) in partnership with Oxfam Pilipinas and Present Coalition, with support from the Australian Government's Investing in Women initiative. Through this collaboration, MSMEs and agricultural value chain partners continue to strengthen their capacity to integrate gender equality, women's economic empowerment, and care-responsive practices into their workplaces and communities.

As we continue our EmpowerHer journey across agricultural value chains, each workshop strengthens a growing movement of partners committed to recognizing, reducing, and redistributing unpaid care work while creating workplaces where women and men can participate, lead, and succeed on equal footing.

Together, we are not only cultivating cropsโ€”we are cultivating equality, shared responsibility, and a future where care is valued, opportunities are inclusive, and every community can flourish.

Maraming salamat to all our partners, facilitators, and participants for walking this journey with us. Together, we continue to plant the seeds of changeโ€”one conversation, one community, and one agricultural value chain at a time. ๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŒฑ

Glow-Care Project Continues Cascading Gender and Care Discussions in the Mindanao Agricultural Value ๐Ÿ…ฒ๏ธŽ๐Ÿ…ท๏ธŽ๐Ÿ…ฐ๏ธŽ๐Ÿ…ธ๏ธŽ๐Ÿ…ฝ๏ธŽs.

The Glow-Care Project as part of the EmpowerHer successfully continued its Gender and Care Discussions in the Mindanao Agricultural Value Chains through a learning workshop held at Trunk to Gold Agribusiness Corporation in partnership with Pagsaka Agricoop, located in San Isidro, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental.

The workshop gathered active production staff, the majority of whom were women, alongside male colleagues who also play vital roles in the organization's operations and success. Their participation reflected the organization's commitment to fostering an inclusive and gender-responsive workplace where everyone contributes to sustainable agricultural development.

The session centered on promoting Gender Equality, advancing Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE), and raising awareness about Unpaid Care and Domestic Work (UCDW). Through interactive discussions and practical learning activities, participants explored how traditional gender roles influence opportunities, productivity, and well-being in both the workplace and at home. The workshop emphasized the importance of recognizing, reducing, and redistributing unpaid care responsibilities to create a more equitable environment for women and men alike.

Participants also reflected on the value of shared responsibilities, equal access to opportunities, and inclusive decision-making in strengthening their organization and improving productivity. By acknowledging the critical contributions of women in the agricultural value chain and encouraging men to become active allies in promoting gender equality, the workshop reinforced the importance of collective action in building resilient and inclusive communities.

The GlowCare Project remains committed to empowering agricultural enterprises and cooperatives by integrating gender-responsive practices that promote dignity, equality, and shared responsibility. Through continuous learning and collaboration with partners such as Trunk to Gold Agribusiness Corporation and Pagsaka Agricoop, the project continues to cultivate workplaces where both women and men can thrive, contribute meaningfully, and drive sustainable development across the Mindanao Agricultural Value ChainGlowCare Project Continues Cascading Gender and Care Discussions in the Mindanao Agricultural Value Chains.

Thank you The Institute for Social Entrepreneurship in Asia (ISEA) and its partners, Oxfam Pilipinas, Poverty Reduction Through Social Entrepreneurship Coalition, and Australian Aid for the Investing in Women project. Our sincerest thanks also to all the staff Trunk to Gold and Pagsaka Coop for your warm welcome and active participation, especially to its Managing Director, Ms. Gemma Emata and Chary.

Monitoring, Learning, and Growing Together๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ซ

Strengthening impact starts with measuring what truly matters.

Today, the GLOW-CARE Project Team participated in the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Capacity Building Workshop facilitated by Adrian Marcelino of Oxfam Pilipinas with the participation of Ms. Lani Mcnough of The Institute for Social Entrepreneurship in Asia (ISEA). The workshop deepened our knowledge and skills in designing monitoring systems, measuring outcomes, documenting lessons learned, and ensuring that our initiatives create lasting, positive change for the communities we serve.

As we continue implementing the GLOW-CARE Project under the EmpowerHer Project, we remain committed to evidence-based learning, accountability, and continuous improvement to advance Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE), Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), and care-responsive value chains.

Our heartfelt thanks to Oxfam Pilipinas and ISEA for your unwavering guidance, trust, and partnership in building stronger organizations and creating sustainable impact.

Together we learn. Together, we improve. Together, we empower.๐Ÿ’š

The last day of the week's activity was with our AVC Partner, the AR-AM Food House of Goa, Camarines Sur under the leadership of its General Manager, Debbie A. Amata in a meaningful exchange on advancing Gender Equality, Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE), and Care-Responsive Practices within their enterprise and the community.

The discussions highlighted the importance of recognizing, reducing, and redistributing unpaid care and domestic work (UCDW) while strengthening the role of women and men as equal partners in building resilient, inclusive, and sustainable value chains.

Thank you to all the participants who shared their stories, experiences, and actively participated in the workshop.

Our heartfelt gratitude to the The Institute for Social Entrepreneurship in Asia (ISEA) for its continued trust, guidance, and partnership in making this initiative possible. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Oxfam Pilipinas, whose team joined us in person, and to all the EmpowerHer partners Poverty Reduction Through Social Entrepreneurship Coalition who continue to champion women's economic empowerment and gender-transformative development.
