π Happy 76th Charter Day, Cagayan de Oro City! π
Today, we celebrate 76 years of progress, resilience, and unity as the City of Golden Friendship.
Cagayan de Oro officially became a chartered city on June 15, 1950, through Republic Act No. 521. Long before its cityhood, the area was home to indigenous communities and later became an important settlement during the Spanish colonial period. Its strategic location along the Cagayan River helped shape it into a center of trade, culture, and commerce in Northern Mindanao.
Over the decades, Cagayan de Oro has grown into one of the country's leading regional hubs while preserving its rich heritage and warm hospitality. From its historic landmarks and vibrant communities to its thriving economy, the city continues to embody the spirit of friendship and progress.
As we mark this special occasion, let us honor the generations who helped build the city and continue working together toward a brighter future for all Kagay-anons.
