BAND OF THE WEEK: Flytte
Flytte is a five-piece independent band from Calamba, Laguna, Philippines. This experimental/alternative rock band started 2015 as a four piece with Jhosen Aragon as vocals and rhythm, Gio Nava as lead, Jason Lirio on bass and Jorge Yanson on drums . The band's name is a Danish/Norwegian word that means "move" or "to move". English pronunciation as "flight" that somehow connect to its meaning.
The idea of forming this band came to them when, last minute, they joined as an opening act in a University's event in Laguna. Few months later, they've started to write their own songs inspired by their favorite bands such as Murphy Radio, American Football, Run Dorothy and various post-rock bands out there. Because of these music influences, they've decided to add up a new member, Gerald Nava, older brother of Gio, for their vocalist to focus on singing and song writing. But after a lot of gigs that they played as a band, they had to switch and turn with members, Ericson Rabino now plays the bass and Arjay Sulit on guitars.
They have recently released their first single, Pasubali and is now up on Youtube, spotify and other music platforms.
