Bro!! A 13 year old just out negotiated me at my own table, and I'm still not over it.
So this happened at the mini card show at 100% Cafe. I'm just chilling at my table when this kid walks up, maybe 13, 14 years old. He's got a small bag with him. Not a "let me show off my cards" bag but a "I'm here for business" bag.
Inside? PSA10 Umbreon from Terastal Festival. PSA10 Gold Star Umbreon from Celebrations. PSA10 Roaring Moon EX. Plus two more heavy hitters I wasn't expecting from someone his age.
At first I'm thinking, okay, cool collection kid. Then we start talking and he breaks down his whole approach and I'm just standing there like, wait, how old are you again?
He told me straight up, he only goes after cards that can be PSA10 contenders. He buys them raw and gets them graded himself. And if a card isn't hitting ₱20,000 or more once it's a PSA10, he's not even interested. No exceptions.
Then he made his move. He wanted my Pitch Black SIRs and offered his PSA10 Roaring Moon EX in trade at 95% Collectr value, with cash on top from his side. And if I wasn't feeling that, he already had his backup ready, straight cash, 100% Collectr price, no negotiation needed on his end.
A kid. 13yrs old. Talking numbers like he's been trading for a decade.
Honestly I let the card go for 90% market. Not because I had to, but because that kind of mindset at his age deserves to be met halfway, not squeezed for every peso.
Now I keep asking myself, what is this kid watching on Facebook or YouTube to think this way this young? And huge respect to his parents too, because raising a kid with that kind of financial sense is not something you see every day.
Would you have taken 90%, or held the line for full price? Let me know.
