At Hem & Her, we’re always grateful for the opportunity to find solutions when a garment needs a little—or sometimes a lot—of fixing. 🧵🤍

For this beautiful dress, we made several thoughtful alterations to make it work perfectly for our client’s Request:

✂️ Changed the turtleneck into a flattering V-neck
✂️ Shortened the side trail for a more manageable and elegant length
✂️ Converted the corset-back zipper into loop fastening for a more refined finish

Behind every alteration is a challenge—and behind every challenge is an opportunity for us to learn, create, and become better at what we do.

✂️ NOT EVERY PIECE OF FABRIC GETS USED.

When we cut a garment, there will always be fabric left behind. Some designs naturally create more waste because of their shape, size, or how the pattern pieces need to be positioned.

But at Hem & Her, we ask ourselves:
“What can we still make from what’s left?” 🧵♻️

This denim dress was created using leftover denim pieces from previous project as well as the ribbon on the sides—giving those a second life instead of letting them end up as waste.

This dress was made for a 6 years old girl.

From leftover cuts to a whole new creation. 💙
