Inaul is the traditional woven cloth of the Maguindanaon. It is also considered as a “Bara-Bangsa”, a term that describes royalty, dignity, and nobility. In the past, the use of Inaul in Muslim Mindanao was a status symbol and worn with pride and respect. The color of the Inaul fabric reflects the vibrant culture of Maguindanao. There are three types of threads are used in weaving the inaul:
• The

cotton tanor
• The silky rayon,
• and the shiny katiyado. Handwoven fabrics costly? This is because of the amount of effort to create these fabrics. It is very time consuming and involves a lot of processes to create beautiful cloth from threads. It
takes weeks and even months to finish the fabrics. Let us support our local weavers and their tradition of weaving!
