Why did oil prices spike today?
- Oil jumped 9% – Brent over $83, WTI near $78.

- Why? The US and Iran are fighting again over the Strait of Hormuz a narrow waterway where 1 in 5 barrels of oil passes through.

- What happened? The US put a naval blockade on Iran and started military strikes. Iran struck back.

- The fear: Oil shipments from the whole Gulf region could get blocked, cutting off global supply.

- The worry: Higher oil prices could raise inflation again and hurt the economy.
