UKAY BUSINESS IS NOT AN EASY BUSINESS.

Sometimes people will look at the price and say, “Mahal naman.”
But they don’t see what happens behind that price.

They don’t see the time I spend looking for good pieces. They don’t see the effort of sourcing, choosing, sorting, washing, cleaning, repairing, measuring, taking pictures, making content, posting, replying to messages, packing orders, and dealing with customers every single day.

They don’t see the pieces that I bought but couldn’t sell. They don’t see the items with small flaws that I have to fix. They don’t see the transportation, packaging, electricity, equipment, storage, and other expenses that come with running a small business.

They only see the selling price.
They don’t see the cost, effort, risk, and time behind it.

In ukay, not every piece is a gem. Sometimes I have to go through hundreds of pieces just to find a few really good ones. And when I finally find something worth selling, I still have to put in the work to make it presentable and reach the right customer.

That’s why sometimes my prices may not be the cheapest.

I’m not just selling a piece of clothing.
I’m selling the time, effort, experience, curation, and work that comes with finding that piece.

And to all my customers who understand that—THANK YOU. ❤️

Thank you for supporting my small business. Thank you for appreciating the effort behind every item. Thank you for choosing to support me instead of simply looking for the cheapest price.

I understand that everyone has a budget, and that’s completely okay. If my price is not within your budget, I respect that. There is no hard feeling.

But please also understand that a small business needs to earn, not just sell.

Behind every successful-looking ukay seller are countless tiring days, mistakes, losses, sleepless nights, rejected items, slow-selling stocks, and moments of doubt.

I’m still learning.
I’m still improving.
I’m still trying to build something bigger.

So before saying “Mahal,” remember that there is always a story behind the price.
