‘NO TO PAX SILICA’

Tarlaqueño actor Brent Manalo took his statement of opposition against the proposed Pax Silica AI hub in New Clark City, Tarlac, on Saturday, July 25.

“Tarlac heavily relies on agriculture for its sustenance and marami sa magsasaka namin ang posibleng marelocate at mawalan ng kabuhayan dahil dito. And this is just one of the many risks it poses. the [1.6k] hectare AI-hub promises to be innovative but at what cost,” he wrote.

The project is a 1,620-hectare industrial zone designed to turn Tarlac into a major tech center for artificial intelligence and high-tech manufacturing.

While officials state the project could create up to 190,000 jobs, critics warn its massive power and water needs threaten local farmland.
