𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘🌳
✅Thirteen years ago, there was a community in Isla de Oro in Cagayan de Oro until typhoon Sendong wiped it all away.
The said Tree saved more than (50+) fifty lives at the height of Tropical Storm “Sendong” (internationally known as “Washi”) on the night of December 16, 2011 and the marker was installed therein to symbolize its significance.
Now, only a mango tree remains for survivors to return to. But this particular tree is a reminder of hope for the residents who clung to its branches to survive when raging waters swept away their loved ones and their possessions.

✅Jamvhille Sebastian & Paolinne Michelle Liggayu, better known as the real life couple “JAMICH” in the online world wears the HELP CDO shirts to spread the word after Sendong or Tropical Washi hit Northern Mindanao.

✅Isla de Oro's some part are now Rio de Oro boulevard which stands today - The fitness hub of Kagayanon Cagayan de Oro City!

🌀Tropical cyclone Sendong affected more than a million people and destroyed or damaged 51,757 houses. Less than a year later, in the wee hours of December 4, 2012, another strong typhoon hit the island of Mindanao, causing similar deaths and damage as "Sendong."
