For almost more than two years, we had to pause selling our freshly picked, farm-direct avocados from La Union and nearby highland farms.
It wasnโt because we stopped loving avocadosโor because we forgot the farmers who grow them. In fact, it was quite the opposite.
Helping our local avocado farmers was always a passion for us. ๐ฅ๐
But over time, we realized that our old way of doing things simply wasnโt sustainable.
We used to deliver orders around Baguio using our own vehicle.
Unfortunately, the cost of fuel, maintenance, and repairs eventually became much higher than what we were earning from the deliveries.
There were even several occasions when we continued delivering during bad weather and typhoons, taking roads through the mountains that were honestly quite dangerous.
There were moments when we wondered if the delivery was worth risking our safety.
That experience taught us an important lesson:
Good intentions need a sustainable system.
So, for now, we decided to pause our fresh avocado operation until we can find the right physical location within Baguio City properโa place where we can properly serve our customers and create a sustainable system for receiving, packing, and distributing farm-fresh produce.
๐ฅ And yes, we still hope to bring back your favorite farm-fresh, quality avocados!
The moment we find the right place and build a system that worksโnot only for us, but also for our farmers and customersโwe'd love to resume.
