It was during this battle that one of the country's most decorated war heroes, Captain Conrado Yap, met his heroic demise. Ninoy was a close friend of Captain Yap, and he witnessed the captain's courageous sacrifice firsthand. This gripping account of heroism and sacrifice is detailed in the extremely rare book "The Aquinos of Tarlac" by Nick Joaquin which is available in my shop.
