Lucas 21:5-19
5 May people were there talking about the beautiful stones and the things offered by the people who make the temple beautiful. But Jesus said to them, 6 “The day will come when these things you see will be rolled away, and not one stone will be left on top of another. ”
7 They asked Jesus, “Teacher, when will this thing you say come to pass? What are the signs that these things are about to happen? ”
8 Jesus said to them, “Take heed that no one leads you astray. For many will come and say they are me, and they will also say their time has come. But don't believe or follow them. 9 When you hear of wars and riots, do not be alarmed, for that must happen first, but that does not mean that the end will come. ”
10 Then Jesus said to them further, “Nation will fight against foreign, kingdom against another kingdom. 11 May there will be strong earthquakes, and there will be famine and death in various places. And you will see also terrible and marvelous signs from heaven.
12 “But before that happens, you will be arrested and persecuted by the people. They will take you to Jewish churches to judge and jail. They will also take you to kings and governors to investigate. All this they will do to you for following me. 13 But this will be an opportunity for you to tell them the Good News. 14 Therefore punch your sword so that when this happens you will not struggle what to answer, 15 for I will give you wisdom to answer, so that your enemies will not oppose you. 16 Even your own parents, siblings, relatives, and friends will sue you. And some of you will be killed by them. 17 All will hate you because you are my disciples. 18 But no harm will befall you. [a] 19 And if you continue you will have everlasting life.
