WOMEN WHO SHOW UP: ANA CARPIO

Boss lady. Sales head. Mother of twins. And one of the OG Pinas Sadya supporters.

Ana has been with us since the days na para kaming alahera. Seryoso. Pupunta kami sa office niya, bitbit ang mga Pinas Sadya pieces namin, and show her what we had. Do you remember this, Ana Victorino Carpio ?

Wala pang MOA. Wala pang bonggang stores. Kami lang at ang dala naming paninda. Ganun kami nagsimula.
And Ana was already there.

Fast forward to today, and she’s become one of our avid MOA-goers. Ang saya lang isipin na from us going to her office with our pieces, siya na ngayon ang pumupunta sa amin.

And somewhere along the way, naging number one influencer na rin namin siya sa wonderful world of SM. She wears Pinas Sadya, talks about us, and introduces us to people in her world.

Masuwerte kami to have people who believed in us when we were still starting out—and continue opening doors for us as we grow.

Ana, thank you for being one of those people.

And ours certainly did. 😂

We started with fashion and ended up talking about history, identity, the stories we carry in our clothes, what it means to show up as yourself, and syempre, Kabogera.

Because for us, clothes have never been just clothes. They carry stories. They connect us to where we come from. And sometimes, they help us say something about who we are.

Ang daming napag-usapan sa Daily Dish. And these are exactly the kinds of conversations we want to keep having.

Love na love namin si Ms. Net. 💛

Sadya stands for joy. And if there's anyone who reminds us what that looks like in a person, it's her.

Ms. Net has this warmth and joy for life, for her family, and for the people around her that you can't help but feel when you're with her. Parang nahahawa ka.

And over the years, ang dami na ring Pinas Sadya na naging parte ng buhay niya. Hayahay, Samurai and Itinakda ponchos, Gantimpala, Lakwatsa Coords in different colors, trenches—and even made-to-order outfits for her Ninang duties.

But here's the part we love most: every time she buys something, she makes sure her daughter Katrina B can wear it too.

Kaya hindi lang pala wardrobe ang binubuo niya. Pamana rin.

These become heritage pieces not only because of the Filipino weaves and stories they carry, but because they're being lived in first. Worn by a mother, borrowed by a daughter, taken to celebrations and travels—and one day, passed on with their own family stories already attached to them.

Kabogerang lakwatsera. ✈️

Probably our favorite message from Jan was when she sent us a series of photos from their friends' trip to Japan. There they were, all wearing the same green metallic Hablon jacket.

Kaya pala ang bilis maubos. Binili pala nila lahat. Naloka kami, hahaha! Ang ganda-ganda ng photos. Pang- movie poster!

Since then, we've watched Pinas Sadya travel with her. She also wore one of our sets to a wedding in France, and who knows where else our pieces have ended up in her suitcase.

But what we especially love about Jan is that she brings people along. Through her, we've met friends who eventually found their way to Pinas Sadya too.

Lumaki ang mundo namin dahil sa kanya.

Jan, thank you for taking us along for the ride, and for letting Pinas Sadya be part of so many wonderful moments in your life.

And because today is your birthday, this one feels extra special.

WOMEN WHO SHOW UP: JOY YUZON

Public servant. Introvert. ARMY. OG Hakutera.

Joy Yuzon is full of combinations you don't necessarily expect—and we love that about her.

Because who says we have to fit neatly into boxes anyway?

One of the most heartwarming moments for us that day was when Joy proudly brought out one of our original Pinas Sadya bags. As in sobrang OG, nakalimutan na naming ginawa pala namin 'yun! 😂

She was so adorably proud of it and made sure she had a photo with it. And we couldn't help but feel a little touched. It was her way of saying, “I've been here. I've loved you from the beginning.” Awww, Joy.

There's something special about being reminded that someone has been quietly rooting for you all these years.

And now, years later, here she is—still showing up with us, still very much herself in all her different versions.

Joy reminds us that you don't have to fit neatly into one box. All those different parts of you? They're all you. And they all get to show up.

WOMEN WHO SHOW UP: ATTY. JENNIFER “JJ” JIMENO-ATIENZA

If you've met Atty JJ, you know. BIG ENERGY.

Lawyer. Ballerina. Kabogera. And one of those women who doesn't just support something she loves—she tells people about it.

Last year, she invited us to do a little pop-up at the GSIS building and introduced Pinas Sadya to her friends, family, and co-workers. Start of the day, lunch time, and bago umuwi she would visit and ask how we were doing. She's also a proud defender of original Filipino design. Pag mahal niya, ipaglalaban niya. Literally.

And then there's her beloved Kabogera Wrap Skirt.

JJ has made it her personal mission to wear hers 10 different ways because, in true Atty JJ fashion, even the Kabog must have ROI. 😂

And of course, she came to Show Up, Kabogera with her ballet shoes in tow. Because if you're a ballerina wearing a Kabogera skirt, syempre kailangan may ballet pose.

That's what we love about her. She reminds us that being Kabogera can be big, expressive, generous, and very, very enthusiastic.

She shows up for herself. But she also shows up for the people and things she believes in.

The halakhakan. The chikahan. The budolan. The posing, the cheering, and women becoming cheerleaders for women they had just met.

Show Up, Kabogera actually started with a question we hear quite often:

“Saan ko ba isusuot 'yan?”

So we thought, sige. We'll create the occasion. Pero kasi, sa totoo lang, life is the occasion.

She would order straight from our website. No messages, no questions. That kind of trust is something we've never taken for granted.

When we finally met her at our Thanksgiving Tea last year, we discovered a reserved, warm woman with a quiet kind of confidence. May quiet Kabog. Ramdam mo.

And that's something we love about her. Because Kabogera comes in many forms—expressive, quiet, and everything in between. The Kabog is in knowing who you are and being comfortable with it.

So when Kris showed up for Show Up, Kabogera—early pa!—we were so happy to see her again.
