One of the harder parts of being a bespoke / fine art invitation artist in a saturated industry is accepting that the ideas you worked so hard to build, even your artwork, can be copied. People will always find a way, and there’s only so much you can do to protect your work.
It can be challenging, especially when you want to promise your clients something truly unique, something bespoke, something that carries the spirit of fine art.
But I guess this is also part of being in a creative field. There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking inspirations from other artists’ works but you have to make sure you don’t just copy everything. You put in the work also and add your own unique touch.
For me, it’s a reminder to trust my own work more. To believe in the creativity behind it, the thought and care poured into every piece, and the relationship we build with our clients along the way.
Because at the end of the day, what makes a work truly ours isn’t just the design. Cos to be honest, anybody can do it these days (why hello canva, why hello AI). But what makes our work unique and truly ours is the heart, the process, and the artistic touch behind it. And that’s something no one can really replicate. 🤍
