Here’s another sound sample of the FD 20 Morris.

Warm and crisp with prominent lows and mids.

Video is taken with Samsung A32 front cam. (Clip is reversed, that’s why it looks like a lefty)

PHP 11,500.00, Morris FD 20.

Manufactured in Terada Gakki, Nagoya Japan around the 70s.

Laminate spruce top, refinished to sunburst.
Laminate rosewood back and sides.
Rosewood fretboard.

This vintage still has good fret life and has good action.

Tone is bright, warm and folksy, and is best suited for finger style. Resonates well.

Body has some minor wear, and tuners look kinda old, but functions very well and have no problems. Bindings start to yellow, giving that vintage look.

Replaced with bone saddle, and some new bridge pins.

New D addario light strings.

Top is refinished to sunburst, saddle replaced.

Very good sounding guitar, especially for finger style playing.

Video is reversed. Guitar is right hand.

😊

Update: SOLD

Vintag 1970s Morris W-20

Still from the hey days of guitar making, this Morris dreadnought is a quality make from Japan. Rosewood headstock, mahogany neck, back and sides. Spruce top.

It has that vintage sound produced by wood that is completely dried up in time, giving its sound some good ring. Very good for both finger style playing and strumming.

Selling for P8,500.00 with a soft case.

Rare Vintage Yamaha C-200 Classical Nylon Guitar. With Hardcase. Price: 8,500.00php.

Disclaimer: Little is known about this guitar. We will, however, try to provide some good inputs.

First thing about this guitar is the age.

I found a few of these beauties on some sites claiming that this is circa 1970. No support was however made as to that claim. There was also a wikipedia list, that claimed that the C-200a model was made in 1984. But that was a different model than this. This guitar is C200, not C200a. Lastly, the serial number (10925) employs the 5 - digit system which yamaha used around 1946-1968 (check Yamaha site).

There were serial number systems that indicates when the guitar is made (ie, 740901 meaning 1974, Sept, model no. 1) but that system used a 6 digit serial number, and not a 5 digit serial number system.

If we are to use those references, we can assume that this guitar is made between 1946 and 1968.

Next we go the body.

Top is Spruce (laminated, not solid) though this is little darker than other Spruce. Maybe due to its age. Back and sides are rosewood. There scratches as you can see on the photos. Fretboard also has some signs of usage. And theres guitar haze on its neck, back and sides (i read that this is due to moisture trapped under the lacquer finish, it gives that cloudy look).

There is no structural damage, and there is no bulge on the bridge despite using high tension strings. 12th fret is 3.5mm.

Now to the tone.

The high tension strings really gave it that very deep mellowy tone. The age of the wood also gave that added resonance.

This guitar is a very nice vintage beauty, overall.

Vintage Morris W-18 Japan, 1970s. Hardcase and freebies included.

From what I gather, this guitar is made around 1978.

Morris guitars make very good quality guitars with very good tone. Bright, deep and has a good ring.
This brand has a good reputation around the music circle.

Strings are replaced with 0.11-0.52 to give that extra brightness and ease in playing.

Body is in almost perfect condition. There are only a few hairline scratches at the back. Other than that, the body is well preserved.

Top: Spruce
Back: Mahogany
Sides: Mahogany
Tuning pegs: Good condition
String height: 3mm

No string buzz.

Freebies: A pretty hardcase, sling, capo, hex key.

Price: 11,500.00
