• Philippine National ID
• Philippine Passport
• LTO Driver’s License
• PRC Professional Identification Card
• UMID Card

Oo.

BASIC DRILLS AT MILITARY COURTESY

TEAMWORK AT LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

MAY AUTOMATIC EXEMPTION BA?

More than 583,000 military and uniformed personnel (MUPs) are set to receive a 5 percent increase in base pay in 2027, on top of the continued P350 daily subsistence allowance, as the Marcos administration steps up support for the men and women who defend the country and keep communities safe.

Under the proposed FY 2027 National Budget, P73.67 billion has been provided for the subsistence requirement of MUPs, alongside funding for higher salaries, additional personnel, healthcare and other benefits, as well as stronger equipment and operational capabilities for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP).

Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Kim Robert C. De Leon said during his media interview on Saturday that both soldiers and police will benefit from the next round of compensation adjustments.

“Ang ating mga sundalo—kasama na rin, if I will speak about military and uniformed personnel—ay merong aasahan na 5% increase sa kanilang base pay across the board dahil doon sa executive order na nilagdaan ng ating Presidente,” De Leon said.

The increase forms part of the second tranche of the adjusted base pay for military and uniformed personnel under Executive Order No. 107, which takes effect on January 1, 2027. For the AFP, P74.92 billion is required for adjusted base pay, while P100.55 billion is provided for the PNP.

𝗣𝟳𝟯.𝟲𝟳 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

Beyond the salary adjustment, the government will continue the increased subsistence allowance for MUPs at P350 per day, more than double the previous P150 daily rate.

For 2027, around P73.67 billion is proposed for the subsistence requirement of more than 583,000 MUPs. For the AFP alone, approximately P30.71 billion is proposed for 246,844 personnel.

“So iyong ating kabuuang 583,000 na MUPs, may nakalaan na P73.67 billion para lamang doon sa increased na subsistence allowance ng ating mga MUP, on top of the 5% increase in base pay na kanilang aasahan next year,” he added.

𝗔𝗙𝗣 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝗽 𝟲.𝟴𝟱%; 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝟱𝟬 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻

The AFP alone is proposed to receive P316.71 billion, an increase of 6.85 percent from its FY 2026 budget.

The proposed budget also provides P50 billion for the Revised AFP Modernization Program, P10 billion higher than the P40-billion appropriation this year.

“Iyong ating budget para sa Revised AFP Modernization Program sa 2027 ay nasa P50 billion, para patuloy nating maipatupad iyong different projects of the Armed Forces para mapalakas ang kakayahan at capability ng AFP,” De Leon said.

“Mas mataas ito kung ikukumpara natin doon sa 2026 level ng GAA na P40 billion dahil maraming kailangang habulin to increase the capability of our AFP through the Revised AFP Modernization Program,” he added.

The government is pursuing personnel welfare and modernization as complementary parts of the same defense strategy. Modern equipment is essential amid evolving security challenges, but so are well-trained, properly compensated and adequately supported personnel who will operate these capabilities.

The government is likewise increasing resources for AFP Personnel Services, Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE), and capital outlays to strengthen the capability of troops to fulfill their mission and defend the country’s sovereignty.

𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁

The PNP will likewise receive greater support in 2027, with a proposed budget of P242.53 billion, higher than its P226.55-billion budget this year.

Of the total, P210.55 billion is intended for Personnel Services, including P100.55 billion for adjusted base pay and P28.67 billion for the P350 daily subsistence allowance of 224,421 PNP personnel.

The proposed budget also provides P697.18 million for the hiring of 2,000 additional patrolmen and patrolwomen and P2.186 billion for the filling of currently unfilled uniformed positions.

Pareho sila ng benepisyo,” De Leon said.

So almost P700 million for hiring of additional 2,000 police personnel,” he added.

De Leon said strengthening police manpower is particularly important as the PNP works alongside schools, local government units and communities in maintaining peace and order.

𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀

The proposed 2027 budget also recognizes that supporting police personnel goes beyond their monthly compensation.

Around P1.74 billion is proposed for rice subsidy, while P280.67 million is allocated for hospitalization and healthcare of PNP personnel and their dependents. Another P125.11 million is proposed for the Bantay Kaisipan Health Program.

At the same time, the government is investing in the equipment and resources police officers need to perform their duties more effectively.

The proposed budget includes P2 billion for the PNP Capability Enhancement Program for mobility, communications, firepower and anti-terrorism equipment, P3.12 billion for ICT, and P1.499 billion for infrastructure projects.

At iyong MOOE natin actually tumaas ng 10% from P23 billion this year to P25.7 billion next year para iyong lahat ng pangangailangan ng ating mga police ay ma-cover,” De Leon said.

Taken together, the proposed investments reflect the administration’s two-pronged approach to national security: take better care of the men and women who wear the uniform, while giving them the equipment and operational capabilities they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.
