❗Great news: Philippine passport holders may enter Mongolia visa-free for up to 21 days.

Practical reminders: your passport should be valid beyond your stay (commonly 6 months advised) and you may be asked for proof of onward travel or sufficient funds on arrival.

❗Top places to visit & things to do

✅Ulaanbaatar (capital) — city contrast of Soviet-era buildings, trendy cafés, and Buddhist life; visit Gandan (Gandantegchinlen) Monastery and the National Museum to learn Mongolia’s history and spiritual revival.

Things to do: city walking tour, museum, local food (buuz/khorkhog), live music bars.

✅Gorkhi-Terelj National Park — green alpine valleys, dramatic rock formations, short hikes and ger stays just outside Ulaanbaatar. Perfect for a day trip or overnight in a yurt.

Things to do: horseback riding, easy hikes, visit small temples and local herders.

✅Gobi Desert (Gobi Gurvansaikhan) — sweeping dunes (Khongoryn Els), Yol Valley, and the Flaming Cliffs (Bayanzag) where dinosaur fossils were found. A true adventure: camel rides, sand dunes at sunrise, and starry nights.

Things to do: camel trek, dune climb, visit paleontological sites.

✅Orkhon Valley / Kharkhorum (Erdene Zuu Monastery) — UNESCO-listed cultural landscape that traces nomadic life and the old Mongol capital; rich archaeology and pastoral scenery.

Things to do: explore ancient ruins, meet nomadic families, ride across wide meadows.

✅Khovsgol Lake & Altai Mountains — pristine freshwater lake (the “Blue Pearl”), hiking, horseback and summer camping; a cooler, forested contrast to the steppe and desert.

✅Hustai (Khustain Nuruu) National Park — see reintroduced wild Przewalski’s horses (takhi) roaming the steppe and enjoy easy wildlife spotting.
Pack to life

❗Why Mongolia is a must-visit

Unmatched landscapes — from endless steppe to deserts, alpine valleys and blue lakes; scenery that feels cinematic and very different from Southeast Asia.

Living nomadic culture — you can stay in gers (yurts), ride with herders, and experience traditions (food, music, hospitality) still integral to daily life.
Pack to life

Adventure & variety — short internal flights or overland tours let you switch from city to desert to mountains within one trip.

History & heritage — UNESCO sites and ancient capitals connect you directly to the story of the Mongol Empire and millennia of nomadic culture.
