𝗥𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗵 | A Proud Meranaw Moment on the Global Stage

Raheemah extends its deepest appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to DATIN DR. (h.c.) HAJAH HARTINI, President & Group Managing Director of PRIHATIN Group of Companies, for proudly wearing a dress meticulously crafted by Raheemah, beautifully adorned with authentic Meranaw artistry and cultural heritage, during the Global Leadership by Women Summit 2026 in Marseille, France.

As she stood before world leaders and distinguished delegates, Dr. Hartini officially presented the G100 Club’s Eight Recommendations for a Gender-Equal G7 to French President Emmanuel Macron. Sharing the global platform were influential personalities, including Chiara Corazza, President of the Women Economic Forum (WEF) Europe and France’s Private Sector Representative to G20 EMPOWER, along with representatives from various sectors and international media, including La Provence.

More than a beautiful dress, this garment carried the story of the Meranaw people, our identity, traditions, artistry, and resilience. Every stitch, every embroidery, and every cultural detail reflected the craftsmanship passed down through generations. Through Dr. Hartini’s unwavering support, Meranaw artistry was not only seen, it was celebrated on one of the world’s most prestigious stages.

This is a testament that Meranaw craftsmanship belongs on the global stage. Our culture is not only confined within our homeland; it has the power to inspire the international community through fashion, heritage, and excellence.

May this milestone inspire more Meranaw youth and artisans to embrace and preserve our rich cultural traditions through dressmaking, weaving, and indigenous craftsmanship. Our heritage is our strength, and by keeping it alive, we ensure that future generations will continue to share the beauty of Meranaw culture with the world.

In October 2022, in a city still rebuilding from the ruins of a five-month siege, a cooperative of Meranaw women opened the doors of the Raheemah Economic Hub. Inside, widows were weaving Inaul. Solo parents were learning enterprise skills. Women who had never expected to be called entrepreneurs were running their own production lines. That Hub didn't appear out of nowhere. It came from one woman who decided, back in 2019, that handing out relief bags wasn't enough.

𝗛𝗮𝗱𝗷𝗮 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗲 𝗔𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗵 "𝗕𝗮𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗻" 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗶 𝗖𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗰𝗮𝘁-𝗡𝘂𝘀𝗸𝗮 is a Maranao civic leader, social entrepreneur, and peace advocate from Marawi City, and she holds the traditional customary title of Bae a Labi, a designation within the Maranao system of governance for a royal female leader trusted in mediation and community counsel. That trust, rooted in culture and earned over years on the ground, is exactly what made her approach to post-conflict recovery different from most.

She started with voluntary humanitarian work among internally displaced families in 2019, then co-founded the Raheemah Women's Organization in 2020, right in the middle of a global pandemic, because she recognized that relief dependency was not recovery. The cooperative pivoted toward sustainable livelihoods, reviving traditional Meranaw textile weaving (Inaul and Landap) and intricate beadwork as actual market-viable enterprise, not just cultural decoration. She partnered with Save the Children Philippines and coordinated directly with Task Force Bangon Marawi to make sure the cooperative's work aligned with the national rehabilitation effort.

In May 2024, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. appointed her as a 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘀 (𝗡𝗖𝗠𝗙), a recognition that the framework she tested in Lanao del Sur was ready to scale nationally. Earlier this year, she was honored at the 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 (𝗪𝗘𝗙) 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 in Melbourne with the award "𝗜𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱." She has also been invited as a principal panelist at 𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗖𝗥𝗔𝗙𝗧 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗶𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗮, where she will speak on transforming regional cultural heritage into global market opportunity.

Her story is a reminder that the most durable form of peacebuilding doesn't always look like diplomacy. Sometimes it looks like a loom.
