Loving people who love you is easy.
Loving people who hurt you is where faith is tested.
📖 Matthew 5:44
“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
Jesus calls His followers to a love that goes beyond human nature.
The world says,
“Get even.”
“Hold a grudge.”
“Treat them the way they treated you.”
But Jesus teaches something completely different.
Pray for them.
Not because they deserve it.
But because God loved us when we did not deserve His love.
Loving your enemies does not mean pretending they never hurt you.
It does not mean approving of what they did.
It means refusing to let hatred take root in your heart.
Forgiveness is not saying the pain was acceptable.
It is choosing to trust God with justice instead of carrying bitterness yourself.
The cross is the greatest example of this kind of love.
Jesus prayed for those who crucified Him.
If His grace could reach us, it can also change the people who have hurt us.
The strongest heart is not the one that holds on to revenge.
It is the one that chooses to love the way Christ loves.
