Stop glorifying Filipino resilience.

We should not be proud of how well Filipinos survive problems that should have been prevented in the first place.

Resilience is not a replacement for good governance. “Filipinos are resilient” should not be used to cover poor planning, failed flood control, and lack of accountability.

We do not need to be more resilient. We need a government that does its job.

“Katutubo ka man o hindi, walang taong mag-aasam na maging basurahan ang kanilang tirahan.” — Kara David

No one deserves to watch the place they call home become a dumpsite. No one should have to trade clean land, fresh air, and dignity for someone else’s convenience.

Development should never come at the cost of people’s homes, rights, and humanity. A community is not disposable, and neither are the people who have protected that land long before anyone else did.
