“KAMI NA PO ANG BAHALANG LUMANGOY” — EDU MANZANO, MAY PASARING SA FLOOD CONTROL

Nagpakawala ng matinding pasaring ang beteranong aktor na si Edu Manzano laban sa mga taong umano’y yumaman at nakinabang sa mga kuwestiyonableng flood control projects, habang maraming Pilipino ang patuloy na nakararanas ng matinding pagbaha.

Sa kanyang Facebook post, sarkastikong binati ni Manzano ang mga umano’y nakinabang sa pondong nakalaan sana para protektahan ang publiko laban sa baha.

“Magandang araw po sa mga yumaman sa flood control. Sana dry kayo, komportable at enjoy na enjoy sa perang hindi naman sa inyo. Kami na po ang bahalang lumangoy,” ani Manzano.

Sinundan pa niya ito ng pabirong linya:

“Ben lubog nagbabalita.”

Ang sakit, pero totoo.

We live in a world that often measures success by money, power, houses, cars, and influence.

But wealth means nothing if you had to steal from other people to get it.

Especially when that money was meant for schools, hospitals, roads, flood-control projects, and services that ordinary Filipinos desperately need.

You may become rich. You may even get away with it for years.

But there is a kind of poverty no amount of money can hide, the poverty of character.

Jesus Himself asked, “What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” - Mark 8:36

At the end of our lives, God will not ask how much we accumulated.

What will matter is how we lived, how we treated people, and whether we chose what was right even when nobody was watching.

Better an honest life with less, than a wealthy life you have to be ashamed of.
