One Spray. Kills Pests. Fights Disease. Feeds Your Plants. Cost: Almost Nothing.
You are buying three separate products at the garden store. Pesticide. Fungicide. Fertilizer. What if one homemade spray did all three?
This organic herbal spray takes 5 minutes to make, costs under ₱50, and works on every plant in your garden.
The recipe
You need 3 things in equal parts:
✦ Herbal pest extract (500 ml) — blend chili, garlic, ginger, and lemongrass in water. Strain. This is your bug killer.
✦ Mangosteen peel extract (500 ml) — boil mangosteen peels in water for 15 minutes. Cool and strain. The tannins inside fight fungal disease.
✦ Wood vinegar (500 ml) — buy at any farm supply store. ₱30 to ₱50 per bottle. This repels insects, kills fungus, and boosts plant growth all at once.
Mix all three in a bottle. Shake well. Done.
Want it stronger? Add neem extract in equal amount. Neem is the nuclear option for serious pest problems.
How to use it
✦ Mix 50 ml of your spray concentrate into 10 liters of water
✦ Spray the whole plant. Top of leaves, under leaves, around the stem.
✦ Spray in the late afternoon. Less evaporation. Better absorption.
✦ Repeat every 5 to 7 days
✦ Heavy infestation? Spray every 3 days until pests are gone.
No sprayer? Mix it in a watering can and pour around the base. Still works. It feeds the soil and builds plant immunity from the roots up.
What it kills
✦ Aphids
✦ Caterpillars and worms
✦ Whiteflies
✦ Mealybugs
✦ Fungal infections (leaf spot, root rot, powdery mildew)
The chili and garlic burn soft-bodied insects. The lemongrass confuses them. The mangosteen tannins stop fungus. The wood vinegar ties it all together.
Works on everything
✦ Vegetables (pechay, kangkong, tomato, eggplant, pepper)
✦ Fruit trees (mango, calamansi, guava, papaya)
✦ Flowers and ornamentals
✦ Herbs (basil, oregano, mint)
✦ Rice and field crops
One spray for your entire garden. No switching between products.
Storage
✦ Keep in a sealed bottle away from direct sunlight
✦ Shake before every use
✦ Lasts for months. The wood vinegar acts as a natural preservative.
✦ Make one big batch and use it all season
What you save
✦ Pesticide at the store: ₱200 to ₱500

✦ Foliar fertilizer at the store: ₱150 to ₱300

5 minutes to make. Under ₱50. Replaces three products. Safe to spray with bare hands. Safe to eat your harvest the same day.
Your kitchen already has chili, garlic, and lemongrass. Your neighbor has a mangosteen tree. The farm store sells wood vinegar for pocket change.
