2018 PHILIPPINE HOLIDAYS
Plan your 2018 travel getaways as the MalacaΓ±ang Palace announced the list of Philippine Holidays 2018 (Regular and Special Holidays) last July 19.
President Rodrigo Duterte has signed Proclamation No. 269, declaring 10 regular holidays and 8 special non-working holidays (including 2 extra holidays All Soulsβ Day and Christmas Eve) next year.
Meanwhile, the proclamation for the observance of Eidβl Fitr and Eidβl Adha will be issued when the dates of the Islamic holidays have been concluded in accordance with the Islamic calendar.
To those who still prefer to work during 2018 National Holidays, know that you should be paid more than the overtime rate on regular days (regular hourly rate + 25 percent of regular hourly rate). Those who work on regular holidays are paid at least 200 percent of the sum of their daily rate and cost of living allowance. Employees who work on special non-working days are paid at least 130 percent of the sum of their daily rate and cost of living allowance. Not bad, right?
