Ever wonder how your favorite MTG formats came to be? 📦✨

Passing booster packs around a table and building a deck on the fly is pure tabletop magic! But did you know that the "Booster Draft" format wasn't actually invented by Wizards of the Coast?

Back in 1994, budget-conscious players who couldn't afford full card collections started cracking open a few packs together and passing them around to build on-the-spot decks. WotC saw how much fun the community was having and made Limited Draft an official tournament format in 1995! 🃏🔥

Happy Monday, gamers! Let’s kick off the week with a quick dip into tabletop history📜

Back in the early 1970s, D&D co-creator Gary Gygax was looking for a way to calculate hit chances with more variance than a standard 6-sided die. He stumbled upon a set of educational plastic polyhedral dice sold by an educational supply catalog for teaching geometry!

The 20-sided die offered exact 5% increments per roll, making it the perfect tool for combat math—and it’s been the holy grail of tabletop RPGs and TCG life-tracking ever since! ⚔️

What's your luckiest (or most cursed) die in your collection? Let us know in the comments below! 👇

Ever wondered why Magic decks don't have a maximum size limit? 🤯🃏

Did you know that according to official MTG rules, your deck can technically have 1,000+ cards? There is NO maximum deck size limit for Constructed formats like Pauper, Standard, or Modern—with just one official catches-all rule:
👉 You must be able to shuffle your deck unassisted!

Back in 1993, when Richard Garfield designed Magic: The Gathering, the original rules set a minimum deck size of only 40 cards! As players discovered hyper-consistent combos, Wizards of the Coast raised the minimum to 60 cards and introduced the 4-copy rule.
However, they never capped the upper limit! So as long as your hands can handle shuffling a massive stack of cards without help, you're legal to play. (Though sticking close to 60 or 100 cards is definitely recommended if you want to draw your best spells!)

What's the absolute biggest deck you’ve ever seen someone bring to the table? Tell us in the comments! 👇
