PREVENTION OF ADOLESCENT PREGNANCY, SENATE BILL NO. 1979: IS IT WORTH IT?

There’s been a lot of tension in the air when the news about this bill spread throughout the entire Philippines. Some have blatantly expressed concern against this bill while others say to reconsider by reading it carefully.

Here is my personal opinion and let me say it for once:
The government wants children (mere minors) to be woke.

Believe me I have scanned this bill and I will demonstrate an example.

But before that let me brief you with some important details.

1. The FULL title of the bill:
An Act Providing For A National Policy In Preventing Adolescent Pregnancies, Institutionalizing Social Protection For Adolescent Parents, And Providing Funds Therefor.

2. The AUTHORS of the bill:
Submitted by the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality joint with the Committees on Social Justice, Welfare and Rural Development; Health and Demography; and Finance with Senators Hontiveros, Marcos, Revilla, Jr., Angara and Go as authors.

As I read it I was impressed. So far so good, in fact most of the points proposed are very exceptional, providing help for single mothers and encouraging them to complete their education? Amazing! Social protection for adolescent mothers? Incredible!

But it is in Section 9-12 where I say things get a little touchy. I won’t go deep into all the details, just stating Section 12 (read it in the picture posted). Basically, adolescents under 15 years old given the consent of a PARENT, a legal GUARDIAN, or a MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL, they can learn everything about s*x just to prevent POSSIBLE gender-based violence, s*xual abuse, and exploitation. So now the government cares about kids being exploited? Not everyone in the country cares about your children. What if a parent doesn’t give consent? The child can just go to a doctor or nurse they know and ask for THEIR consent to learn all this information instead of their parents. What if the parents gave consent? Do you know your kids well enough to know who they subscribed in Youtube? What they chat to their friends in Roblox?

It may be possible that the government is sugarcoating a lot more dangers with the promise of help for single adolescent mothers.

Pray for our leaders.
Pray for our parents.
Pray for the children.

Book Review Alert❗️

Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte is a book that gripes you to the bone.
It is an ecstasy of love, confusion, hope, and despair.
The story is of an adopted child named Heathcliff who is hated by everyone except his adopted father. As Heathcliff grows up, he falls in love with his foster sister, Catherine. Their souls are one but they do not readily admit it to each other so follows a tragedy of envy, grief, and abuse. Catherine marries another and gives birth to a child by the name of Cathy. The story moves on to cover the lives of their children as we see the workings of Heathcliff, a desperately evil/mad mind.
My recommended age? 13 and above, there are a lot of violent scenes, not necessarily murder but of abuse. It is not altogether that bad, but it inherently reveals the basest truth of an English moor tragedy. I think it essential to note the preface given by the sister's author at the beginning of the book. All in all, this is a declared favorite classic.

Peak Education?

One of the examples stated was about gender. There are many other safe examples that could've been used instead of that (like how the word "artificial" changed over time). We have to face it.

Even education is woke.

Parents teach your children the truth. 3 John 1:4 says, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth."

Just started the year watching this movie as a family. We are all truly inspired, with quite a lot of tears shed by almost everyone, especially my parents. I recommend it because I learned about the quality of discipleship. It is very heartwarming and Godly. More than that, it showed the Christian life, its ups and downs, also the emphasis on faith and prayer.
My favorite learning is to be the fountain and not the drain. 😉
The Kendrick Brothers strikes again! They are officially my favorite directors. Go watch it now!
