So LGBT PILIPINAS deletes and blocks when your views and opinions goes against theirs! haha

So I will post it here instead.

Ah, the classic “we’re not political, we’re just hanging out with politicians” defense.
Nothing says “no political color” like posing for photos at a rainbow event funded by someone whose public alliances often lean more red than riot.

Let’s be clear: acknowledging Vice President Sara Duterte’s policy statements isn’t the issue—good proposals should be welcomed regardless of the source. But pretending that choosing which politician to formally engage, endorse, or applaud isn't a political act? That’s like claiming you just accidentally fell into a campaign poster with a mic in your hand.

Yes, Pride should be for all. But when the same “all” includes officials who’ve been silent—or complicit—during crackdowns on dissent, attacks on activists, and public mockery of LGBTQ+ rights, some of us can't help but raise a brow and a rainbow flag.

Supporting q***r rights doesn’t absolve someone of their political baggage. A progressive policy speech doesn’t erase a regressive track record. And just because someone gave you a mic doesn’t mean you have to sing in their choir.

So yes, PRIDE has no political color—but let’s not be colorblind to context.
Because if we don’t interrogate the platform we’re given, we might just become the glitter on someone else’s agenda.
