Itās been a while since I had a commissioned art work and this one was also a first to do a bigger art work.
I used to get orders for cards when Sweet Serendipity was still Panitika. God is good that while I had to stop first my workshops He opened a door to do commissioned art work again. The surprising thing is itās for a wedding.
From doing cards to finally creating a larger piece, God never fails to teach me something. I used to ājust paintā and see how God will help finish a painting. This time I have to conceptualize. I did several sketches, researched ideas, even watched youtube videos how to āpaint treesā. I also considered the brideās vision and researched ideas ā however I cant shake the thought they deserved something that wasnt that common. The vision came stronger as I watched their prenup video. The playfulness, fun, and magic in it. Eventually after so many tries, sketches, research, and videos (ang challenging din pala), I found myself checking ācriss crossā ātwistedā trunks and flowers. Of course I opted for it to be just a sample at first for the bride to select on⦠in the end praise God she chose it.
āBranches of Graceā is a reminder of Godās intention for marriage ā two becomes one.
As the tree roots grow deeper, and the trunks and branches also grow with it, it represents strength in unity that blossoms towards fruitfulness. The tighter the bond (the twisted look on the trunk) the flowers bloom (we all know when flowers bloom itās because the bark and branches has gone through prunning and now it prepares to bear fruit). As the tree branches out every finger print that will be added represents how the union between husband and wife blesses those around them as well ā a testimony of love and how it extendsā¦
As I painted Branches of Grace it also taught me about how Godās provision. More than discovering painting techniques I was reminded every art work I do is a prayer ā this is more than just a commissioned art work ā itās a prayer for the couple.
I still have loads to learn and I am grateful for this experience.
Congratulations to the couple who entrusted me with this work. I am grateful for the trust and extended grace.
