I became interested in Wood Turning back in 2013 when I was conceptualizing products for my other business. Having Wood or Resin added to a product led me to Wood Turning and learning about it. Although I did not learn thru traditional means, my uncanny ability of reproducing specialized skills from Watching and Reading about it online proved once again to be invaluable. Only after so many years t

hat today in 2017, I finally decided to put all of what I learned into practice. At FreeHand Custom Pens, We craft Custom Pens by Hand Turning and Finishing the Barrel on a Lathe, and then Assemble the Pen - Press fitting all the parts meticulously to form a beautiful work of art. Though no longer a necessity today due to technology. Pens have become more Sentimental - Ideal Gifts for Loved Ones or Employees/Bosses/Co-Workers. Part of a collection. Because of such - Pens have become more than just a necessity or a tool, it has become something Personal and Intimate, for which owning a Crafted Pen is much more valuable. Workshop upgrades. The buffing wheel will trim down our finishing process (sanding/polishing) from 1-3 hours depending on the material to about just an hour. And thw Lathe hood which will be connected to a dust collection system will reduce alot of the chips and ribbons and sanding dust arpund the shop.
