Robot and Monster is an American CGI-animated television series created by Dave Pressler, Joshua Sternin, and Jennifer Ventimilia for Nickelodeon. The show premiered on August 4, 2012, and chronicles the comedic misadventures of two unlikely best friends living in a retro-futuristic world where "Mechanicals" (robots) and "Organics" (monsters) live side by side—unified primarily by their mutual, obsessive love for bacon. Though the show was highly praised for its unique character designs, strong voice cast, and physical comedy, it had a turbulent broadcast history on Nickelodeon. The Setup: Nickelodeon originally ordered a full 26-episode run in 2010. The Cancellation: Due to shifting network priorities and lower-than-expected ratings, Nickelodeon pulled the series from its main channel schedule before all the episodes could air. The Afterlife: The remaining unaired episodes were eventually burned off on the sister network Nicktoons and later packaged onto the Noggin streaming service in 2015. It remains a cult-classic "forgotten" Nicktoon of the early 2010s.
