NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC
RE SABON DEPOT PILIPINAS
We hope this message finds you well. Today, we are writing to inform you of an important development regarding our business. After careful consideration, THAM Consumer Goods Trading, the sole distributor of Sabon Depot products in Camarines Sur decided to end its Master Franchise Agreement with SABON DEPOT PHILIPPINES, INC. headed by MR. JOEY GABARDA CORPUZ.
As a business, we envisioned to supply our customers with affordable but high-quality products. We thought that by partnering with SABON DEPOT PHILIPPINES, INC. we can achieve that goal. We believe that Clean Up by Sabon Depot is a good brand to offer as an affordable alternative to leading brands of cleaning solutions for kitchen, laundry, car care, janitorial, pet care, and hygiene.
However, during the 7 Months of operation in Camarines Sur, we have encountered several issues regarding the sufficiency of supply and consistency of product quality.
The issue regarding the supply for the entire Bicol Region was temporarily solved due to our effort and consideration that we agreed to temporarily bear the responsibility for ALL of their production costs even though it is not what we have agreed upon based on our Contract with Sabon Depot Philippines. However, the problem of inconsistent product quality made it harder to retain clients and maintain profitability. We absolutely have no control over the quality of products since the production is solely handled by Sabon Depot Philippines through the instructions of Mr. Joey Corpuz.
The inconsistent product quality results not only the damage in our reputation as a Business Organization but also added up to our losses since we have invested a big amount in marketing the business in platforms such as our Radio Plug which is broadcasted within the entire Camarines Sur and other parts of Bicol Region , Social Media Advertisements which is visible to the entire country and Direct selling to our Institutional Clients. It also causes our beloved customers to experience bad products and inconveniences.
Our goal of providing cleaning solutions of good quality to our fellow Bicolanos was based on their persistent press releases on the quality of the Sabon Depot Products. Initially it was of decent quality but after several months we have received numerous complaints of its poor product consistency and quality.
SABON DEPOT Philippines, Inc. claimed that they have over 500 franchisees nationwide, that all of their products are scientifically formulated and tested, that some of their raw materials came from Europe and that they have enough employees to support our Master Franchise Investment. However, to date, we have only conducted business with less than 5 operations personnel of which some are employees of separate smaller companies which are tied to Joey Corpuz of Sabon Depot Philippines, Inc.
A company claiming to have 500 franchisees nationwide but never once did we see their office and Central Warehouse. We found out that the small office and warehouse we went to in Bocaue, Bulacan is not owned by Sabon Depot Philippines, Inc. but by JDG corporation where Joey Corpuz is one of the incorporators. We also learned that some of the claimed manufacturing sites of Sabon Depot Philippines do not have the required License to Operate from FDA. We ourselves requested for the FDA License to Operate for the production assigned to us but they have not provided us with one.
Also, upon checking, the “Sabon Depot” name is the only trademark that is still registered with the IPO while the “Clean-Up” brand which is claimed by Mr. Joey Corpuz through his press releases has an “ENDED” status with the WIPO Database.
There are other confidential reasons as to why we have decided to our contract with Sabon Depot, but the bottom line is that we believe that trust is the cornerstone of Business. Trust and relationships much more than money is the currency of business. Without trust business relationships will not thrive and Sales targets will not be achieved.
We already called the attention of Mr. Joey Corpuz and their team, however they refused to sit and talk with us so we have no choice but to take this matter Legally.
We apologize for those who have been affected and will be affected by this decision but as a Company, we have the responsibility and duty to protect our customers and our employees from Brands that can’t support their claims and are inconsistent in their product Quality.
