WHEN THE WATER RISES
Good day, everyone.
Today, I speak for the Filipinos who are trapped inside their homes because of the flood.
Imagine waking up with water on your floor, your belongings floating, your children scared, and no way to go to work. Imagine having no income because the roads are underwater, while your home and everything you worked for are slowly being destroyed.
Now, to those in power, ask yourselves:
Where did the money meant to protect these people go?
Every peso lost to corruption or wasted through negligence has a human cost.
It can mean a family with no food.
A worker with no income.
A child unable to go to school.
A home left underwater.
Do not tell us that Filipinos are strong as if our strength should excuse your failures.
We are strong because we have no choice.
We should not have to keep proving how resilient we are. We deserve leaders who prevent suffering, protect our communities, and use public money honestly.
Look at Pampanga.
Look at the families surrounded by water.
They are not just statistics. They are people. They are Filipinos.
So when the water rises, let our voices rise higher.
We are asking for accountability.
We are asking for honesty.
We are asking for action.
Because the Filipino people deserve to live—not just survive.
Thank you.
