🌪️ WEATHER UPDATE from PAGASA: Tropical Depression "Luis" Forms 🌪️

PAGASA has just announced that the Low Pressure Area east of Infanta, Quezon has developed into Tropical Depression Luis (Bulletin #01, issued 11:00 PM, August 1).

Right now, Luis is still far from Northern Luzon and isn't posing a direct threat to our area yet. Its effects on wind and rain will first be felt in Marinduque, Romblon, Siquijor, Southern Leyte, Camiguin, and Dinagat Islands starting tomorrow (Aug 2).

By Monday, August 3, strong to gale-force gusts from the southwest monsoon and Luis's outer bands are expected to reach most of Luzon and Visayas — so our area could start feeling some effects by then.

📍 Based on PAGASA's forecast track, Luis may move closer to Extreme Northern Luzon around Tuesday to Wednesday (August 4–5) — still a few days out, but worth watching closely.

We'll keep you posted as PAGASA releases updates. For now, enjoy the calm before it possibly gets breezy! 🧺

⚠️ WEATHER WARNING: Tropical Depression "Kiyapo" — Signal No. 1 Up in Parts of Ilocos Sur ⚠️

Mga kapitbahay, please take precautions — Tropical Depression Kiyapo is strengthening today and is expected to become a tropical storm, possibly a severe tropical storm by tomorrow (Saturday).

Signal No. 1 is currently up over parts of northern Ilocos Sur, along with Ilocos Norte, Abra, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Batanes, and portions of Mountain Province and Ifugao.

📍 Kiyapo may pass close to Cagayan today, then near or make landfall over the Babuyan Islands this afternoon or evening.
🌧️ Heavy to intense rainfall is expected, with risk of flooding and landslides.
💨 Strong to gale-force gusts are expected over most of the country today, and most of Luzon and Visayas tomorrow.

🌧️ WEATHER UPDATE: Low Pressure Area Enters PAR, Possible "Kiyapo" 🌧️

PAGASA reports that a Low Pressure Area entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility this morning (8:00 AM) and has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression within 24 hours. If it strengthens further, it will be given the local name "Kiyapo."

Heavy rainfall is expected over Northern Luzon — including Cagayan, Apayao, Abra, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur — with intense rain possible from Friday noon through Saturday. Areas like Benguet and La Union are also expecting moderate to heavy rain during this period. Strong to gale-force winds may follow as it nears, with Signal No. 2 possible at its peak.

Closest approach to Northern Luzon: Friday or Saturday (July 24–25).
