Never correct your husband or wife in public.

Simply because you are one.

When you publicly humiliate your spouse, you may think you are only embarrassing them—but in reality, you are also bringing shame to yourself. You are a team. What affects your spouse also affects you.

Marriage is not about proving who is right in front of other people. It’s about protecting each other’s dignity, even when one of you is wrong.

If correction is needed, do it privately, with love and humility. Correct privately, but honor publicly.

The Bible says:

“The two will become one flesh.”
— Ephesians 5:31

And Scripture also reminds us:

“Love is patient, love is kind… It does not dishonor others.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:4–5

Your spouse is not someone you need to defeat in front of others. They are the person you promised to stand beside.

So protect their name. Protect their dignity. Protect your marriage.

Because when you are one, their honor is your honor too. ❤️
