It was in 1997 that TMP-HRD and LMC initially conceived the cooperative as an association of women who were directly or indirectly a part of TMP. It started out as a venue for keeping housewives informed about the Company situation amidst the 1998 Asian Financial Crisis. In 1999, the officers of the association decided to register it as a cooperative with the objective of augmenting family income.
The association was then named Samahang Maybahay ng Toyota Cooperative (SMTCoop) and is composed entirely of female Team Members and wives of male Team Members of Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation. In 2024, the cooperative re-registered and is now known as the Toyota Women Consumers Cooperative (TWCC). TWCC supplies novelty items sold at its outlet located in the Toyota Administrative Services Center in TMP Santa Rosa Plant. TWCC also supplies a part of the rice subsidy benefit of TMP employees. In addition, some indirect production materials are being procured by TMP from TWCC. TWCC extends its product availability to Toyota affiliates such as dealers and suppliers. TWCC holds seasonal bazaars and payday specials. On these occasions, members who run their own businesses are encouraged to participate and showcase their products together with other invited suppliers. Items like apparel, toys and books are sold at a discount and offered at salary deduction to employees for ease of payment. The TWCC Bazaar has also opened an online platform in line with existing health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic.
