On March 25, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord—the moment when the angel Gabriel announced to the Virgin Mary that she would conceive and bear the Son of God.

In the humble home of Nazareth, the angel appeared to Mary, Mother of Jesus with the divine message that she would conceive by the power of the Holy Spirit and name the child Jesus. Her faithful response—“Let it be done to me according to your word”—opened the way for the Incarnation.

At that instant, the eternal Son of God took flesh in her womb. The mystery of salvation began to unfold in silence and humility. The Word became flesh, and God entered human history not with power and spectacle, but with gentleness and grace.
The Annunciation reminds us that God’s plans often begin in hiddenness. Like Mary, we are invited to trust, to listen, and to respond with courage and surrender. Her “yes” teaches us that obedience rooted in faith can change the world.

As we honor this solemnity, may we echo her fiat in our own lives—welcoming Christ into our hearts and carrying His presence to others.

MAR 25 | 𝙈𝙄𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙇𝙀 𝙊𝙁 𝙋𝘼𝘿𝙍𝙀 𝙋𝙄𝙊

Margaret, my 1950-born daughter, was therefore always ill and frail. I continued hearing from doctors that she will get over it, but one of them saw her at school and recommended that I take her to a cardiac specialist. We discovered at age 11 that she would require major surgery due to a hole in her heart and undersized heart valves. However, they advised me to let her rest and regain strength first because she was so frail. Margaret made the decision to write Padre Pio a letter requesting assistance. Shortly after, she received a response from him assuring her that everything would be alright and not to worry. They were shocked when they took another x-ray when we returned to the doctor. The hole in her heart had almost completely closed on its own, and she no longer needed surgery.
