There are moments when you're talking to your friend, you're laughing about something, and then she suddenly says something serious like, "I'm tired of all this people talking about me getting fat, I really want to lose weight." And I'm like, I want to hug this person and tell her that she's beautiful, forget what they said and celebrate you.

The truth is I'm scared. Everyday, every person I meet for the first time, Every stare I meet eye to eye, every rejection or disgust I sense makes me afraid. I'm afraid, that the more I show that I'm indifferent, the more people would think I'm strong, no one would notice, that I have chips in my armor, linked like constellations, caused by me mostly. I want someone to know me, to look deeper. See me, beyond what you can see. Like me, for what I do, for what I can't do. I'm a person, who likes animals, loves my family, a beach bum, who loves tattoos, who loves art, loves books, likes music that carries you deeper onto thyself, thinking, thoughts roaming, one forming from the other and never ending. I have wished so many times, for someone to find me.
I'm scared it will never come.

I often go to National bookstore for 2 things

1. Browse books I'll never buy because they're too expensive
2. Leaf the pages close to my nose so I can smell them

Hahhahaha. Please like if you do the same 😁

47 RONIN (P200)
Joan D. Vinge

Goodreads: From ancient Japan's most enduring tale, the epic 3D fantasy-adventure 47 Ronin is born. Keanu Reeves leads the cast as Kai, an outcast who joins Oishi (Hiroyuki Sanada), the leader of the 47 Ronin. Together they seek vengeance upon the treacherous overlord who killed their master and banished their kind. To restore honor to their homeland, the warriors embark upon a quest that challenges them with a series of trials that would destroy ordinary warriors. 47 Ronin is helmed by visionary director Carl Erik Rinsch (The Gift). Inspired by styles as diverse as Miyazaki and Hokusai, Rinsch will bring to life the stunning landscapes and enormous battles that will display the timeless Ronin story to global audiences in a way that's never been seen before.

I've read this book for 2 months. I guess I just don't know how to appreciate this kinds of books. By the way guys this is not the original novel but just a novelization of the movie. But looking back, I enjoyed the story a lot. So send me a mesage if you are interested :)

THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO (P100)
Stieg Larsson

Goodreads: Mikael Blomkvist, a once-respected financial journalist, watches his professional life rapidly crumble around him. Prospects appear bleak until an unexpected (and unsettling) offer to resurrect his name is extended by an old-school titan of Swedish industry. The catch—and there's always a catch—is that Blomkvist must first spend a year researching a mysterious disappearance that has remained unsolved for nearly four decades. With few other options, he accepts and enlists the help of investigator Lisbeth Salander, a misunderstood genius with a cache of authority issues. Little is as it seems in Larsson's novel, but there is at least one constant: you really don't want to mess with the girl with the dragon tattoo.

This is the book that started my love for suspense novels. I finished the book this time :) The subject was too dark for me as a high schooler, so there are some parts that I skipped. I would have loved to read the book again but the only book I've read more than once are the Harry Potter series :) Like if you agree, hehe

UNDRESS ME IN THE TEMPLE OF HEAVEN (P100)
Susan Jane Gilman
Goodreads: They were young, brilliant, and bold. They set out to conquer the world. But the world had other plans for them.

Bestselling author Susan Jane Gilman's new memoir is a hilarious and harrowing journey, a modern heart of darkness filled with Communist operatives, backpackers, and pancakes.

In 1986, fresh out of college, Gilman and her friend Claire yearned to do something daring and original that did not involve getting a job. Inspired by a place mat at the International House of Pancakes, they decided to embark on an ambitious trip around the globe, starting in the People's Republic of China. At that point, China had been open to independent travelers for roughly ten minutes.

Armed only with the collected works of Nietzsche, an astrological love guide, and an arsenal of bravado, the two friends plunged into the dusty streets of Shanghai. Unsurprisingly, they quickly found themselves in over their heads. As they ventured off the map deep into Chinese territory, they were stripped of everything familiar and forced to confront their limitations amid culture shock and government surveillance. What began as a journey full of humor, eroticism, and enlightenment grew increasingly sinister-becoming a real-life international thriller that transformed them forever.

Undress Me in the Temple of Heaven is a flat-out page-turner, an astonishing true story of hubris and redemption told with Gilman's trademark compassion, lyricism, and wit.

Another book I didn't finish. I found this in a list of books people in 30s should read. Well, I'm not yet in my 30s so maybe that's why I wasn't interested much. Hayyy.

THE GARDEN OF EDEN ( P200)
Ernest Hemingway
Goodreads: A sensational bestseller when it appeared in 1986, The Garden of Eden is the last uncompleted novel of Ernest Hemingway, which he worked on intermittently from 1946 until his death in 1961. Set on the Côte d'Azur in the 1920s, it is the story of a young American writer, David Bourne, his glamorous wife, Catherine, and the dangerous, erotic game they play when they fall in love with the same woman. "A lean, sensuous narrative...taut, chic, and strangely contemporary," The Garden of Eden represents vintage Hemingway, the master "doing what nobody did better" (R. Z. Sheppard, Time).

So it's unfinished. I've tried reading the book when I received it but I didn't continue because I was interested on other genres but it is an Ernest Hemingway book so if you're a fan message me if you are interested :) As you can see, there is a fold on the top right corner of the book, a bit tanned on the edges, sorry I edited the photo to make it look better, mehe, but once you message I will show you pictures to show the book's condition. Thanks a lot!
