It’s been a couple of weeks since the Sandugo OTOP Trade Expo ended, and honestly, we’ve been taking our time to let everything sink in. This year was our third time joining the expo, and every year has given us wonderful memories. We always look forward to meeting fellow local artisans, reconnecting with familiar faces, and sharing Nico Cacao with everyone who visits our booth.

But this year will always be extra special.

We were deeply honored to receive the Silab ni Dagohoy Award for Most Innovative Product for our Nico Cacao Dark Chocolate with Asin Tibuok. Even now, it still feels a little surreal. When we started Nico Cacao, we simply wanted to create chocolates that celebrate our local heritage and showcase the incredible flavors of Bohol. We never imagined that something we created with so much love would one day receive this kind of recognition.

To the organizers of the Sandugo OTOP Trade Expo, thank you for continuing to create a space where local businesses can grow, connect, and share what they love with others. And to everyone who has supported Nico Cacao, our family, friends, loyal customers, and everyone who stopped by our booth over the years, thank you. Whether this was your first time discovering us or you’ve been with us since our first Sandugo, your support means more than you know.

This may be our very first award, but to us, it’s more than a trophy. It’s a reminder of how far we’ve come, how much we’ve learned, and how grateful we are to be doing what we love. Thank you for being part of this milestone and for believing in our journey. Here’s to creating more chocolates, sharing more stories, and making many more memories together.

As we pack up our booth and head home, we’re bringing back more than just empty shelves, we’re taking home all the conversations, smiles, and encouragement we received throughout the week.

To everyone who stopped by, whether you picked up a bar of chocolate, shared your thoughts, or simply became curious about what we do, thank you for making this experience so meaningful.

Every event reminds us why we started Nico Cacao in the first place, to share the beauty of Philippine cacao and the stories behind it. Seeing so many people appreciate our work makes all the effort worthwhile.
