Currently, quality education has become a luxury in the country where the privileged enjoy an unfair advantage. Schools with hefty tuition 'bills' are not affordable for the masses in Pakistan. Most parents
in Pakistan lack resources for online learning. Similarly, parents interested in homeschooling fail to get social support and essential resources as homeschooling is not a celebrated practice locally. While the masses lack resources to keep their kids busy in educational and skill-building activities, most kids rely on excessive screen time for entertainment in their leisure time. Screen time is as toxic for kids as vinegar is to milk. It is extremely exhausting and nearly impossible for mothers to filter and monitor what kids learn from YouTube and gaming apps. Keeping these challenges in mind our team initiated The Skill Station. The Skill Station will fill in the gaps created by the lack of resources due to the 'colonised' education system in the country. We offer skill-building toys at affordable rates to help parents engage their kids in learning while they play. The brand will also serve as a support platform for parents of school-going children as well as homeschoolers to keep them motivated in their parenting journey. Currently, we have introduced imported, durable educational toys for children from 1 to 10 years of age. Later, we plan on adding DIY robotics kits, short programming sessions, science experiments, and webinars on language, entrepreneurship, communication and online marketing skills for empower the young minds and make Pakistani children second to none. Our team includes Montessori training veterans, computer engineers, Business Graduates and stay-at-home moms who make up an inclusive and wholesome team for child development. Ms Mehnaz Sabir Khan with more than 20 years of experience of teaching children and training teachers decided to discontinue her passion for teaching due to her arthritis and age restrictions. We are channelling her experience and knowledge to online platforms to create content for parents which will help them teach essential mathematical, EPL (Exercises of Practical Life), sensorial, culture and language concepts. Mrs Mariyum Akif is a computer engineer from NED University of Engineering and Technology. She helps us devise our robotics content and develop DIY kits for young creators. Ms Hubbab Sabir is a BBA graduate from IBA, Karachi. She manages social media communication at The Skill Station and manages every part of the chain which makes our message reach to you. Last but not least, Mrs Bushra Abid is a stay-at-home mom who helps us reach parents and understand their struggles. She is the link between us and the parents and helps us get valuable insights to understand and solve the parents of today. Our team is dedicated to filling the gaps in skill development for the children of Pakistan and we wake up each day to place a brick to bridge this gap!
