Is Qatar Airways an official entity of Qatar, or are they operating as a disconnected offshore airline? Because the level of negligence and lack of transit coordination at Hamad International Airport today is unacceptable.
Here is the reality of how Qatar Airways is treating hundreds of passengers right now:
📌 The Nightmare Timeline:
1. The Origin Disruption: Flight from Karachi (scheduled 3:50 AM) was delayed by over 4 hours, departing at 8:00 AM. Passengers were already awake and at the airport since midnight.
2. The Doha Trap: Upon arriving in Doha, missed connections resulted in forced layovers ranging from 14, 21, to 27 HOURS for over 250-300 passengers!
3. The Visa & Hotel Excuse: Qatar Airways claims they cannot provide hotel accommodation because the Qatari Government isn't issuing On-Arrival Visas to these passengers.
📌 The Big Question:
How can a state-owned flag carrier—claiming to be the "World’s Best Airline"—fail to coordinate with its own Ministry of Interior / Qatar Immigration to issue emergency 24-hour transit passes during a massive operational crisis created by their OWN delays?
📌 The "Lounge Access" Illusion:
Dumping exhausted human beings—who have been awake for over 30+ hours—into a crowded lounge where you can’t even stretch your legs or sleep horizontally is NOT Duty of Care. It is physical exhaustion and psychological strain.
Standard international aviation regulations dictate that during severe airline-caused disruptions, the carrier must arrange entry/transit accommodation. Washing your hands of 300+ stranded passengers by hiding behind "visa rules" is a complete breakdown of accountability.
I demand immediate intervention by the Station Duty Manager at Hamad International Airport, Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, and Qatar Airways Management to immediately arrange proper rest facilities or emergency transit processing for all affected passengers.
