This collection of articles written by me in a span of twenty three years, published between 1984 and 2007, is in essence my experience of my city, Karachi, its people, and it’s culture of literary pursuits..
Through this I hope to bring to you, my friends, my experiences with people and to give you a glimpse of the wonderment that surrounds us as we navigate our life,
P.S. I have included a piece I wrote in 2013, the year my world was turned upside down. It was published in an anthology in 2019

So the third book on Perween’s Five book Legacy of Perween Rahman series is in hand .
To get to wherever you want to be you need a map:

Where are you now?
and where do you need to go?
Do you have a map of how to get there?
and then with the map we discovered our bearings..
And here we are.

And Perween who called her team and herself the ‘Ninja Turtles of Mapping” showed the communities how to look at their surroundings, documenting the infrastructure in terms of what they have and what they did not, and then work towards getting the latter. She also believed that without a map it was easier to steal land. And it was this aspect of her legacy of preventing the stealing of water and theft of land that proved so lethal to the powers that be.
This book outlines the methods and philosophy behind her insistence on Mapping and in so doing involve the community to understand development.
