One session of the 'Learn to Draw Animals from the Qur'an' workshop focuses on the signs that Allah gave to Musa (AS). There were several signs, including: the staff that turned into a snake, his hand turned gleaming white, and others mentioned in the following ayah:

Surah Al A'raaf, vs. 133
فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلطُّوفَانَ وَٱلْجَرَادَ وَٱلْقُمَّلَ وَٱلضَّفَادِعَ وَٱلدَّمَ ءَايَـٰتٍۢ مُّفَصَّلَـٰتٍۢ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۭا مُّجْرِمِينَ

So We plagued them with floods, locusts, lice, frogs, and blood—all as clear signs, but they persisted in arrogance and were a wicked people.

After discussing the signs, the kids and I illustrated a frog together... Attached is the amazing work I received from participants in Saudi, Pakistan, and the USA. One of them is mine... can you guess which one? 🙂

I'm currently conducting an online illustration workshop for kids called 'Learn to Drawn Animals from the Qur'an'. One of the batches I'm teaching consists of 9 - 11 year old kids in California.
We recently read the story of Saleh (AS) and the miraculous camel, then drew a camel together. My illustration was a just a simple camel, but Masha Allah, I was delighted to see some of the illustrations the kids submitted.

Is fasting just about leaving food and drink? Unfortunately, that's what many Muslims believe!

But, it's so much more than that! It's about making a special effort to stay away from all those things which are displeasing to Allah and hurtful to our fellow human beings... Especially actions like lying, cheating, arguing, and BACKBITING!

Let's make a special effort to become better human beings this Ramadan by avoiding ALL of the above!

I recently wrapped up the online 'Learn to Draw Animals from the Qur'an' workshop with some wonderful kids in the USA, Alhamdulillah.

I wanted to share some of our illustrations with you all...
So, in the story of Yunus (AS) we learned to draw a whale, but also learned that Allah did not specify what type of fish actually swallowed Yunus (AS). So, it could have been a big shark too! So, of course, we learned to draw a shark!

Here's my illustration of a shark along with one of my students, Amelia. I think Amelia did a terrific job - I like hers better than mine! Can you guess which illustration is mine and which is Amelia's?
