Research Area: The successful candidate will work in forage-livestock systems research, with an emphasis on management strategies to enhance forage production, nutrient cycling and the sustainability and feasibility of operations. The student will primarily be engaged in a grazing trial using perennial and annual forages to determine production, ecosystem services, and support soil nutrient accumulation. The student will be involved in Extension and education activities throughout the degree to support information dissemination and efforts at the statewide and regional levels. Previous experience in conducting and/or working grazing trials is preferred.
Qualifications:
· A master’s degree in Agronomy, Animal Sciences, Crop Sciences or related areas with a conclusion date by Fall/2026.
· Strong knowledge, background and experience in forage research methodology for sampling and laboratory analysis
· Previous experience in conducting and/or working on grazing trials is preferred
· Demonstrated interest in research, academic excellence and writing/publication
· Proficiency in statistical analysis and software use (e.g., R, SAS)
· Good written and spoken communication skills in English
