My father, Professor Pritam Singh’s painstaking, dedicated and devotional research on Baba Farid, spread over six decades of in-depth study of numerous original manuscripts, various Punjabi, Persian, Sufi and other primary historic sources culminated in the form a book “Sri Guru Granth Sahib Wale Sheikh Farid Di Bhaal” (In Search of the Sheikh Farid of the Guru Granth Sahib). It remains the most significant authentic research work on Baba Farid.

The book being in Punjabi, its reach was limited to Punjabi reading audience. A great number of Bab Farid’s devotees of western Punjab were deprived of the wisdom contained in this book.

I am greatly obliged to Professor Zubair Ahmed to have undertaken the monumental task of translating my father’s book into Urdu. Looking at the research language of the book, the translation was indeed a very tedious and difficult job. While I am grateful to Prof. Zubair, I am also indebted to TRINJAN for making the book available to the large followers of Baba Farid in Pakistan and Punjabi speaking population of the world.
