Even lighting from a single source tends to flatten a space. It doesn’t define zones, highlight materials or create atmosphere.
What works better 👇
Above the table, a pendant light with directional lighting. It defines the dining area independently from the rest of the room.
In the living room, a ceiling light or lamp with diffused light as the base, combined with wall lights or a floor lamp as a secondary source.
In a working kitchen, LED strips under upper cabinets combined with a general ceiling light.
