SHOULD YOU GREASE THE TOW BALL OR NOT? 🤯 The answer is: IT DEPENDS. 👀

Exactly – it depends on the type of coupling fitted to your trailer.

💧 Grease it if your trailer has a standard ball coupling without a stabiliser or friction pads. Lubrication improves the operation of the coupling and slows down wear – both on the tow ball and the coupling itself. Grease also helps protect against corrosion.

🙅 NO GREASE if you’re attaching a coupling with a stabiliser (most commonly found on heavy trailers and caravans) or a bike rack!

What’s more, before hitching up a trailer with a stabiliser, the tow ball should be cleaned and degreased. 🙉
